Dear guests,

The health, safety and well-being of all our guests and employees is our top priority in everything we do. We want to make your stay at The Fontenay as comfortable and safe as possible. Below, you’ll find an overview of the hygiene measures in place in the individual areas of our hotel. Currently, the 3G rule applies in our house.

  • The entire hotel is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis
  • Everyone in the hotel is required to maintain a distance of 1.5 m to 2 m from one another
  • All employees are continuously trained in the hotel’s hygiene standards. All employees wear face masks
  • Hand sanitiser dispensers are provided in all public areas.
  • All areas of the hotel are aerated and ventilated 24 hours a day by means of ventilation systems (without recirculating the air). These systems are planned and built in accordance with all relevant requirements and therefore comply with all legal regulations. They are also operated and maintained to a professional standard
  • A maximum of two people may use the lift at a time, excluding families and groups of people who are travelling together


  • Arrival is only possible with a negative coronavirus test proof (rapid test not older than 24 hours or PCR test not older than 48 hours), proof of a complete corona vaccination (last necessary vaccination date at least 14 days ago) or a convalescent proof (positive PCR test at least 28 days ago and not older than six months). A new negative test must be submitted automatically every 72 hours
  • The reception area is set up in such a way that contact is kept to a minimum
  • All contact surfaces in the hotel lobby and entrance area, such as door handles, lift buttons, handrails, etc., are disinfected on a regular basis
  • We recommend cashless payment
  • Room and key cards, pens, leather desk pads, card machines and bill presenters are disinfected after every use
  • Valet parking is provided on request and in accordance with hygiene requirements
  • We also offer a contactless luggage service on request


  • Rooms are cleaned every day between 9 am and 5 pm or between 10:30 am and 7 pm on Sundays and public holidays
  • As we are unable to provide a turndown service in the current situation, beds are already prepared for when guests arrive
  • Room staff are instructed not to enter and clean a departure room until it has been ventilated for 30 minutes. A sign to this effect is placed on the room doors
  • Please note that, due to the extended cleaning and disinfecting process, there may be slight delays in our room cleaning service.
  • Room staff use an environmentally friendly sanitary cleaner, as well as a residue-free disinfectant at the end of each cleaning process
  • Items requested by guests are placed by the room doors in order to avoid personal contact as far as possible


  • In all restaurants and the Fontenay Bar, tables are kept at least 1.5 metres apart. There are also spacious outdoor terraces available
  • Please book a time slot for your breakfast in advance or when you arrive.
  • Guests have the option to register digitally in the restaurants and the menus are also available as QR codes
  • The tables, menus, etc. are disinfected after every use.
