Our Bar Manager
Rocco Tolomeo
Before Rocco Tolomeo has been our Bar Manager at The Fontenay since April 2021. The Fontenay is his first stop in northern Germany:
“I feel very much at home in Hamburg. The many bridges and the water remind me of Venice. I appreciate the variety of districts and lifestyles, from the Schanze to Blankenese. Hamburg's guests have high-quality standards and appreciate good hospitality,” says Rocco Tolomeo.
He grew up near Stuttgart in Bietigheim-Bissingen in a family of restaurateurs. He became enthusiastic about food creation at an early age and began his training as a hotel specialist at the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart with a bar specification. After graduating as an international bartender in Munich, he continued his training in hotel management in Stuttgart. Prior to joining The Fontenay, Rocco Tolomeo served as a Bar Manager at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Munich.

Together with the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and the wraparound terrace, this creates an exceptional sky bar experience that harmoniously blends the indoor and outdoor areas in every season.

The Fontenay Bar is a special place all year round. Whilst the terrace and the view of the Alster take centre stage during the warmer months, the large windows also offer impressive views on cooler days.
