Star violinist Hilary Hahn has a special connection to Antonín Dvořák's Violin Concerto. It was this work – overflowing with beautiful melodies and dance-like rhythms – that she recorded during COVID-19 pandemic, helping her regain her strength and confidence as an artist. The acclaimed album marked a milestone in Hahn's career, and the captivating yet demanding concerto has since become a cornerstone of her repertoire.
For this ProArte concert, Hilary Hahn is joined by the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In the second half, the orchestra presents another landmark masterpiece: Sergei Prokofiev's unforgettable ballet score Romeo and Juliet. Inspired by Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, the work remains one of the composer's most beloved and frequently performed creations.
